IPS Dr Pritpal Kaur,SP Phek, Nagaland has launched Project ROSHINI - Light for education.This project aims to create libraries, donations of books and to motivate students to read and write more.

Under Project ROSHINI, libraries were created and books were donated at four locations Holy Care School Phek, Christian Mission Higher Secondary School, Police Reserve Phek and Bishop Abraham Memorial School, Phek. Dr Kaur also interacted directly with students, taking classes and encouraging them to work hard, read more and channel their energy towards building a progressive and peaceful society.

In a first-of-its-kind initiative for the district, Dr Kaur also inaugurated a Science Lab and Education Park at Phek Government College , under the theme “Educated and Empowered Phek.The science lab has been equipped with microscopes, a telescope, organism samples, chemistry experiment kits, a spectrophotometer, centrifuge, skeleton models, maps and educational charts across subjects.
The Education Park features eight subject-based models, including Rashtrapati Bhavan for polity, an animal cell for biology, an economics currency model, a literature library corner, environmental science exhibits,a morung for cultural studies and ISRO-GSLV models. Notably,all models were created using waste plastic bottles and wood, highlighting innovative waste management.

Addressing students and faculty,Dr Kaur urged youth to stay away from intoxicants, adopt values-based education and become environmentally responsible citizens. She called upon society to work collectively to make Phek a no-plastic-waste, educated and empowered district.
