The Ministry of Power has sought fresh applications for the post of Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Rural Electrification Corporation. Notably, the Public Enterprises Selection (PESB) has withheld the selection process for want of appointment of an IAS officer to the post. Now, the Ministry has sought applications from Joint Secretary or equivalent post level officers. The appointment will be made by the Ministry itself instead of the PESB route.
