Crucial NDA Parliamentary meet on July 21

The political landscape is buzzing with anticipation as the National Democratic Alliance prepares for a pivotal parliamentary meeting scheduled for July 21. Coming just ahead of the highly anticipated Monsoon Session, this meeting is expected to set the tone for the government's legislative and administrative agenda.
At the top of the agenda is the widespread speculation surrounding a major Union Cabinet reshuffle. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent marathon review meetings with central secretaries have intensified the buzz about structural overhauls and governance reforms. The ruling coalition faces the intricate task of balancing the demands of established regional allies with the need to accommodate new political entrants. Additionally, there is a push to introduce younger faces to bring fresh perspectives into the administration.
Beyond the cabinet expansion, the NDA leadership will tackle pressing matters slated for the upcoming Monsoon Session.
Will an MoS visit break the Jantar Mantar deadlock?
.png)
As climate activist Sonam Wangchuk’s indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar enters its third week, political circles are abuzz with speculations of a breakthrough in the deadlock. According to sources, the government is highly likely to dispatch a Minister of State (MoS) to the protest site to formally request Wangchuk to end his gruelling fast. This potential outreach represents a significant shift. For days, the Centre maintained a calculated distance from the demonstration, but the activist's rapidly deteriorating health, and mounting pressure from opposition leaders have reportedly triggered a rethink.
Wangchuk's unwavering resolve has forced several factions within the ruling dispensation to recalibrate their rigid stance toward the CJP’s demands about the NEET exam leak and Ladakh conservation issue. While a formal dialogue on the resignation of the education minister remains highly unlikely, sending an MoS could serve as a vital olive branch to ease the political temperature. Will this gesture eventually cut ice? it is to be seen.

LS Speaker likely to decide fate of rebel MPs before Parliamentary session

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is likely to decide the fate of rebel MPs of TMC and Shiv Sena (UBT) before the Monsoon session of Parliament, scheduled from July 20.
Amid TMC factional feuds, Mamata Banerjee stays away from media

Amid mounting political uncertainties and escalating internal factional fights within the Trinamool Congress, party supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has reportedly taken a firm stance against the press. Sources close to the leadership reveal that Banerjee has denied interview requests from multiple prominent national media outlets. In a decisive move to control the narrative and mitigate public speculation, she has explicitly stated that she will not be giving any public interviews for the foreseeable future.
This strategic media silence comes at a critical juncture for the party, as the leadership grapples with intense internal rifts and growing scrutiny over organizational cohesion. By withdrawing from the media spotlight, Banerjee aims to reduce tensions and address internal conflicts behind closed doors, rather than letting them play out publicly. Political analysts view this as a tactical retreat to consolidate power and restore discipline among the warring factions.
Sonia Gandhi calls INDIA bloc meeting

Sonia Gandhi has convened meetings of INDIA alliance partners on July 17 at 10 Janpath to discuss strategy for the next Monsoon session, July 20 to Aug 13.

Speculation is rife across Punjab’s political corridors as sources hint at an impending, comprehensive shakeup within the state police bureaucracy just before the crucial assembly polls. With upcoming elections on the horizon, the ruling administration is reportedly gearing up to realign key field postings to optimize administrative efficiency and maintain tight law and order across all the volatile districts.
Insiders suggest the proposed rejig will not just target mid-level officials but could see a sweeping realignment of senior Indian Police Service and Punjab Police Service officers. With the landmark India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) taking effect on July 15, 2026, Maharashtra is uniquely positioned to benefit the most. As India’s premier industrial and manufacturing powerhouse, the state stands ready to leverage this historic pact to supercharge its diverse regional economy.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis highlighted that the agreement opens massive avenues for Maharashtra’s exporters, MSMEs, entrepreneurs, and farmers. Since the UK has immediately eliminated tariffs on nearly 99% of Indian exports, the state's highly developed, export-oriented sectors will gain unprecedented, duty-free market access. Key local industries including engineering goods, pharmaceuticals, textiles, gems and jewellery, food processing, agricultural exports, and key IT services will secure a powerful global edge.
Furthermore, the phased reduction of import tariffs on select UK goods protects domestic manufacturing sensitivities while encouraging technology transfer.
