The dejected party workers are reportedly upset by fielding a loyalist of Gandhi family from Amethi. Even experts have opined that by fielding an unknown face, the Congress has given a walkover for BJP in Amethi Parliamentary constituency.

BJP has fielded Dinesh Pratap Singh, a former close lieutenant of Sonia Gandhi. He joined the BJP in 2019 and presently is a minister and MLC in the UP Government. Rahul Gandhi will face a tough challenge from local chap Singh.
