Telangana asks Centre, increase number of IPS officers allotted to state

The Telangana government has asked the centre to provide additional 29 posts of IPS officers to the state. In a meeting with the Home Minister Amit Shah, the Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy raised the point that Telangana is allocated 61 IPS posts which are quite insufficient in terms of its present requirements. He also requested to conduct the review of IPS cadre posts for Telangana which was last done in 2016. He asked for the urgent need of establishing camps of security forces in Adilabad, Mancherial and Komaram-Bheem Asifabad districts on the pattern of camps in Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra to counter Left-wing extremism.
