New Secretary Financial Services M. Nagaraju is well qualified for this job

M. Nagaraju IAS (TR: 1993)has been picked up  as Secretary, Dept. of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance. During 2004-08, he served in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs as Director in Japan/North America and World Bank Divisions. Thereafter, he worked as Advisor to the Executive Director at the World Bank in Washington DC from 2008 to 2012, responsible for India’s relationship with World Bank.

He completed Executive Education at Harvard University. He was a visiting fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, USA for one year in 2012-13 and Visiting Research Scholar in Stonehill College in 2018-19.

During his tenure in Coal Ministry he had led opening up of the coal sector through private commercial mining by auctioning more than 107 coal mines transparently and responsible for reforms that has led India reach one billion ton coal production this year.
