Giriraj Singh, Union Minister of Textiles, Government of India along with other senior officials visited NBCC executed International Craft Complex, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi on 06.09.2024. This large, modern facility, covering over 2,000 square feet, is designed and executed to show off the beautiful craftsmanship from different parts of India. During the visit, K.P. Mahadevaswamy, CMD, NBCC briefed Giriraj Singh about the project wherein Minister appreciated the quality, workmanship, variety and special features of the building. Saleem Ahmad, Director (Projects) along with other officials from NBCC were also present during the occasion. The building with two basements, ground floor and three upper floors shall accommodate Headquarters office, Northern Regional office. Built on a plot area 7,153 sqm, it comprises of 199 staff cabins and 35 rooms. The craft complex will have 23 shops for artisans along with one showroom, one kiosk, five galleries and one convention halls. The approximate cost of the execution is Rs. 125 Crore. The International Craft Complex also highlights India’s rich cultural heritage and gives artisans a place to display their work and connect with more people and stakeholders.
