Rishikesh of Uttarakhand Development Corporation Tourism has been awarded 'The Best Adventure Destination' at an India Today Tourism Survey and Award-2025 ceremony held in New Delhi. Union Tourism Minister, Gajendra Shekhawat handed over the award to Sachin Kurve, Secretary Tourism & Chief Executive Officer. While receiving the award, Kurve informed that the Tourism Department is promoting adventurous activities from time to time as well as exploring and developing small tourist places in order to attract maximum tourists. With a view to promoting Astro-Tourism, 'Nakshatra Sabha' have been organised to observe the stars and to immerse participants in various activities such as stargazing, special solar observations, astrophotography contests, and camping under the stars, he added. This is the country's first annual campaign in this area.  Notably, Rishikesh of Uttarakhand Tourism Development Corporation has been selected for 'The Best Adventure Destination' award among the participations of various States like Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Meghalaya, Delhi and Union Territories.
