The Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC) Lt Gen JP Matthew is superannuating on April 30. Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit has been approved to take over as the new CISC. The CISC is responsible for coordination among the three services and is part of the Chief of Defence Staff team in managing the tri-services affairs. Air Marshal Dixit is a Mirage 2000 fighter jet pilot and is presently heading the all-important Central Air Command in Prayagraj. He will be assuming his new office on May 1.
