whispers in the corridors
Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL), a joint venture of NTPC, IOCL, CIL, FCIL, and HFCL, celebrated its 10th Foundation Day with pride and enthusiasm at its Gorakhpur unit on 15th June, 2025 — a key milestone marking a decade of service to Indian agriculture, indigenous urea production, and sustainable growth. The celebrations reflected the journey of transformation that HURL has undertaken since its inception in 2016, culminating in the successful commissioning and operation of state-of-the-art fertilizer plants in Gorakhpur, Sindri, and Barauni. At HURL Gorakhpur, the day began with a plantation drive, symbolizing the organization’s enduring commitment to environmental sustainability and a greener future. This was followed by a plant tour led by Managing Director Dr. Siba Prasad Mohanty, along with the Directors, Plant Head, and HODs, where the technical team showcased HURL’s operational excellence and technological capabilities. A Prize Distribution Ceremony was held to felicitate the Loading & Packing Workers, acknowledging their critical role in plant operations and their steadfast dedication. The evening witnessed a vibrant gathering of dignitaries and employees, featuring inspiring speeches from HURL’s leadership. A special presentation by the Plant Head highlighted the unit’s achievements, growth trajectory, and vision for the future. In a heartfelt message, the Chairman of HURL stated: "HURL's journey over the last 10 years is a testament to what can be achieved through vision, collaboration, and commitment. As we celebrate this milestone at our Gorakhpur unit, we honour not just our infrastructure, but the people — from engineers to operators — who bring purpose to our progress. Let this Foundation Day reignite our collective pledge to build a self-reliant and sustainable India." Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Siba Prasad Mohanty, Managing Director, HURL, said: "We are not just manufacturing urea — we are nurturing the backbone of India. The past decade has been about building capacity and confidence. The future will be about innovation, farmer empowerment, and green growth." The celebration at Gorakhpur stood as a powerful reminder of HURL’s values — rooted in gratitude, powered by people, and driven by purpose — as the company looks ahead to the next decade of impact and innovation.
