whispers in the corridors
In a landmark step towards community development and environmental responsibility, Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) and the Dhanbad Municipal Corporation (DMC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on July 4, 2025, under HURL’s Corporate Environmental Responsibility (CER) initiative. The MoU aims to illuminate approximately 30 kilometers of Sindri town with energy-efficient LED street lights and high mast lighting systems, at an estimated cost of ₹10.29 crore. This transformative project is expected to enhance public safety, improve energy efficiency, and contribute significantly to urban infrastructure development in the region. The MoU signing ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Siba Prasad Mohanty, Managing Director, HURL; VP-HR; BUH (Sindri); Municipal Commissioner, DMC; and Additional Municipal Commissioner, DMC. Their presence underscored the spirit of collaboration and shared commitment to community upliftment and sustainable development. Following the signing, the day unfolded into a celebration of nature and employee engagement through the Van Mahotsav tree plantation drive, where employees and dignitaries alike participated in greening the campus. The event also included the distribution of specially designed T-shirts to employees, promoting unity and awareness, and concluded with a guided plant visit showcasing HURL’s operational excellence. This multifaceted celebration reflects HURL’s unwavering dedication to social responsibility, environmental stewardship, and inclusive growth — lighting not only the streets of Sindri but also a path toward a greener, brighter future.
