POWERGRID signs MoU with VMMC & Safdarjung hospital Delhi (UPDATED)

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna PSU under Ministry of Power, Government of India has signed an MoU with Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC) & Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi, to provide seven state-of-the-art medical equipments under CSR for the benefit of urology and renal department patients. Equipments include Video Urodynamic Machine with Near Infra Red Spectroscopy, TRILOGY Lithotripter, Thulium Fibre Laser Machine, Portable Mobile Endoscopy Machine, 3-in-1 endoscopy system, etc. The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr. Yatindra Dwivedi, Director (Personnel), POWERGRID, Jasbir Singh, ED (CSR), POWERGRID, Anshuman Tandon, CGM (Corp. Comm.), A K Rai, CGM (CSR), Ashok Kumar Mishra, GM (CSR & HR), NR-I, POWERGRID, Dr. (Prof.) Sandeep Bansal, Director, VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, Dr. Charu Bamba, Medical Superintendent, Dr R K Wadhwa, Senior CMO, Dr Pawan Vasudeva, HOD Urology Department, Ms. Poonam Dhanda, Medical Social Welfare Officer & Member CSR Committee, VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital. The CSR assistance is being provided by POWERGRID for installation of high-tech equipments, upgrading various functions of the hospital that will benefit patients coming from all over India.   Corporate Social Responsibility is embedded into POWERGRID’s business model and is aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. POWERGRID has been consistently contributing to the field of economic and social development across the country with its CSR initiatives.

As on 30th June 2025, POWERGRID has commissioned and is operating 284 Sub-stations, more than 1,80,533 ckm transmission lines and 5,66,831 MVA of transformation capacity. With the adoption of the latest technological tools and techniques, enhanced use of automation and digital solutions, POWERGRID has been able to maintain an average transmission system availability of more than 99.84%.
