UPSC centenary year celebrations to begin from Oct 1

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will mark its 100th year of existence with a year-long series of events and initiatives, beginning on October 1 this year and concluding on October 1, 2026. During the celebrations,UPSC will release a commemorative logo and tagline, along with launching several new initiatives and reforms. The Public Service Commission in India was first established on October 1, 1926, under the provisions of the Government of India Act, 1919, and the recommendations of the Lee Commission (1924). It became the Federal Public Service Commission in 1937 and was later renamed the Union Public Service Commission with the adoption of the Constitution on January 26, 1950. Under Article 320 of the Constitution of India, the Union Public Service Commission is mandated to be consulted on all matters relating to recruitment to civil services and posts.
