MP Tourism Board to host Gandhisagar and Kuno Forest Retreat & Festival (UPDATED)
Madhya Pradesh is set to transform tourism with two immersive eco-adventure experiences — the Gandhisagar Forest Retreat and the Kuno Forest Retreat — launching in September and October respectively. These retreats aim to blend adventure, nature, wellness, and cultural heritage, offering tourists unique, experience-based getaways. The Gandhisagar Forest Retreat, beginning September 12, is located at the backwaters of the Chambal River in Mandsaur. It features 50 luxury glamping tents, adventure sports such as parasailing, paramotoring, and jet skiing, and nature-focused activities like jungle safaris, boat spas, and conservation workshops. Visitors can also explore a Butterfly Garden and Rock Garden while engaging with local crafts and cuisine. This retreat aims to position MP as a leading destination for adventure tourism, while also boosting local employment and eco-awareness.

The Kuno Forest Retreat, starting October 5, near the cheetah-famous Kuno National Park in Sheopur district, offers 25 glamping tents amidst serene natural settings. With a focus on wildlife and wellness tourism, key experiences include jungle safaris, hot air ballooning, night walks, yoga sessions, folk performances, and a dedicated Cheetah Interpretation Centre. The retreat highlights environmental conservation, cultural immersion, and community participation.

ACS, Tourism, and MD, MP Tourism Board Sheo Shekhar Shukla said that both retreats are fine examples of experience-based tourism. Guests will enjoy high-quality, fully equipped glamping and indulge in water, land and aerial adventure activities including parasailing, paramotoring, jet skiing, hot air ballooning, jungle safari, night walks and star gazing. Along with the all-season tent city, boat safari, boat spa, yoga and wellness sessions, local cuisines, handicraft displays and cultural performances will connect tourists closely with the culture and lifestyle of the state. These events have been designed to ensure that along with tourism, environmental conservation, community participation and sustainable development remain top priorities.

Tourism Minister Dharmendra Singh Lodhi emphasized that these retreats are more than festivals — they are holistic efforts to integrate nature, culture, and sustainability. Together, these events are set to redefine Madhya Pradesh’s tourism landscape, drawing global attention while empowering local communities and preserving ecological and cultural wealth.
