PIB officer works whole day in standing mode, armchair removed
A senior officer in Press Information Bureau (PIB) has adopted an innovative idea in office. He has got his armchair removed and works whole day in standing mode. His reasoning: avoiding chair keeps him on his foot and avoids any distraction. Also, PIB  hardly involves any file work and so chair sitting can be avoided.

The  IIS officer of 1999 batch uses the sofa in his room to meet guests and service colleagues but avoids the facade of chair surrounded by big table, as is the culture in government offices. The officer, looked after Research and Fact Check division of PIB till last week and is now assigned charge of publicity work for 11 Ministries of Central Government.
