Four IAS officers have been given new assignments in Assam. Dr John Berchmans has been appointed Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Industries & Commerce, while Mukesh Chandra Sahu, ACS, Women and Child Development and Bodoland Welfare Departments, gets additional charge as ACS, Transport Department and Konwar Narayan Kumar, Secretary, Higher Education and School Education will also hold charge of posts of Registrar, Cooperative Societies, MD, RUSA; Director, Official Language Welfare and MD, Samagra Shiksha Mission. Besides, Gyanendra Dev Tripathi gets charge of PS, Border Security and Development, Implementation of the Assam Accord, and Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship Departments and will also hold additional charge of Labour Welfare Department.
