Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla has been conferred with the prestigious ‘Maritime Excellence Achievers Awards’ under the category “Driving Maritime Innovation” and “Port Sustainability Pioneer” at the ongoing India Maritime Week 2025, held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. The award was presented by Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon’ble Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, in the presence of Shri Shantanu Thakur, Hon’ble Minister of State (PSW). This honour stands as a testimony to DPA’s consistent commitment towards technological excellence, port modernisation, sustainability, and innovation in the maritime sector. Under the visionary leadership of its Chairman, DPA has spearheaded multiple pathbreaking initiatives including the commissioning of India’s first megawatt-scale Green Hydrogen Plant, introduction of electric green tugs, hydrogen fuel cell buses, and development of a smart, fully mechanised port ecosystem, aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and the National Green Hydrogen Mission. Expressing his gratitude, Shri Sushil Kumar Singh, Chairman, DPA, extended heartfelt thanks to all stakeholders, port users, trade unions, employees, and the Shramiks (port workforce) for their whole-hearted cooperation and dedication in achieving these milestones. He emphasized that this recognition reflects the collective effort and spirit of teamwork that drives Deendayal Port Authority towards becoming a ‘Port of the Future’ and a true enabler of India’s maritime transformation.
