Indian Parliamentary Delegation Attends APA Standing Committee in Moscow

An Indian Parliamentary delegation comprising three Members of Parliament—Shri Rajkumar Chahar, Dr. C.N. Manjunath, and Dr. V. Sivadasan—participated in the Asian Parliamentary Assembly's Standing Committee on Social and Cultural Affairs held in Moscow on October 28-30, 2025.

Rajkumar Chahar, BJP MP from Fatehpur Sikri, Uttar Pradesh, brings extensive experience in agricultural advocacy as the National President of the BJP's Kisan Morcha. Dr. C.N. Manjunath, a renowned cardiologist elected from Bangalore Rural, Karnataka, represents a growing trend of healthcare professionals in parliament. Dr. V. Sivadasan from Kerala, representing the CPI(M) in the Rajya Sabha, is an accomplished academic with significant expertise in agrarian issues and social welfare, maintaining exceptional parliamentary attendance of 93%.

The delegation's participation underscores India's commitment to strengthening multilateral cooperation within the APA framework, which comprises 44 member parliaments and 14 observers. The Moscow meeting focused on addressing critical social and cultural issues affecting the Asian region, including cultural diversity preservation, women's parliamentary representation, and multilateral cooperation initiatives. The presence of these three parliamentarians across different political ideologies and parliamentary houses reflects India's inclusive diplomatic approach and demonstrates the importance New Delhi places on Asian integration and cooperation in promoting peace, human rights, and humanitarian principles across the continent.
