POWERGRID wins “The Green Apple Environment Award” (UPDATED)

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, has won “The Green Apple Environment Award” at a ceremony held at the House of Lords, Westminster Palace, London. The award was received by Dr. Yatindra Dwivedi, Director (Personnel) and Jasbir Singh, ED (CSR) POWERGRID. POWERGRID is the only CPSE to be chosen for this prestigious award. The award was given by the Green Organisation, UK for the project “Dive into Opportunity-Skill Training for Fishermen at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.” The project involved skills training to unemployed youth from fisherfolk communities of Trivandrum, Kerala. As on 31st October 2025, POWERGRID has commissioned and is operating 287 substations, and more than 1,81,054 circuit kilometres of transmission lines, and 5,82,516 MVA of transformation capacity. With the adoption of latest technological tools and techniques, enhanced use of automation and digital solutions, POWERGRID has been able to maintain average transmission system availability of 99.84%.
