The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar inaugurated ACM COMPUTE Conference 2025, bringing together over 150 delegates including educators, researchers, and industry professionals. The three-day conference, running from December 7-9, 2025, is India's premier platform for advancing computing education. The conference was inaugurated by Prof Rajeev Ahuja, director, IIT Ropar. Organized by iSIGCSE (India Chapter of Special Interest Group on CS Education) in cooperation with ACM and SIGCSE, COMPUTE 2025 serves as the flagship education conference of ACM India. The conference features six keynote addresses by renowned speakers including Prof. Tanmoy Chakraborty (ACM OCCE Award Winner), Prof. Maria Mercedes (Didith) T. Rodrigo, Shoaib Dar, Prof. Clif Kussmaul, Dr. Tanuja Ganu, and Dr. Radhika Trikha. Topics range from NLP education in the LLM era to AI's impact on education. Two panel discussions address critical issues: industry-academic collaboration and the role of AI in teaching. Research paper presentations run in parallel tracks covering computing education research, curricula design, and India-specific challenges. A special Best Practices Ideas Session honors the legacy of Prof. Rajaraman, pioneer in Indian computing education, under the theme "Architecting the Future of CS Education." The conference features an extensive program including multiple interactive workshops on topics such as Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL), AI-assisted teaching tools, high-performance computing for education, and innovative AI/ML pedagogies. Research paper presentations run in parallel tracks covering computing education research, curricula design, and India-specific challenges. Since its inception, ACM COMPUTE has established itself as India's premier platform for computing education discourse. Previous editions featured renowned speakers including Sumit Gulwani (Microsoft Research), Pankaj Jalote (IIIT Delhi), Sridhar Iyer (IIT Bombay), and Alison Clear (EIT, New Zealand). Past conferences have hosted sessions on ACM Computing Curricular 2020 (CC2020), India's National Education Policy 2020, and the SWAYAM initiative of AICTE, consistently addressing the most pressing issues in computing education. As COMPUTE 2025 concludes on December 9, 2025, it leaves participants with new insights, connections, and inspiration to transform computing education across India. The conference continues to serve as a vital platform for educators to stay current with global trends while addressing local challenges, ensuring that India's computing education evolves to meet the demands of an increasingly digital world.
