The MoU was formalized in the presence of the Education Minister of Australia Jason Clare and Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar, marking a major milestone in India–Australia scientific collaboration. The center will focus on AI‑driven agriculture, automation, climate‑resilient farming, and next‑generation agri‑supply chains, combining the strengths of two globally respected institutions. The collaboration brings together the deep agri‑tech expertise of IIT Ropar and the globally recognized research ecosystem of the University of Western Sydney. IIT Ropar’s ANNAM.AI initiative has emerged as a national leader in AI‑enabled soil intelligence, precision agriculture, and farmer‑centric digital platforms, while UWS is internationally known for its Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment, one of the world’s top centers for plant‑soil‑climate interaction research.
