India’s fourth SSBN commissioning expected by early 2027
India’s fourth SSBN (S4*) commenced sea trials in late December 2025/early January 2026, with commissioning expected by early 2027. INS Aridhaman (third SSBN) is set for late 2026 induction. Predictions include Project-77 SSNs (nuclear attack submarines) gaining momentum in 2026. Whispers suggest increased focus on anti-submarine warfare with new shallow water crafts.
