THDC India Limited celebrated the 77th Republic Day with great patriotic fervour. Sipan Kumar Garg, Chairman & Managing Director, THDCIL, unfurled the National Flag at its Corporate Headquarters in Rishikesh. On the occasion, he addressed employees across project sites and offices through virtual platform, extending his Republic Day greetings and highlighting the organisation’s collective commitment to constitutional values, discipline, and nation-building through sustainable and reliable power generation. The occasion was marked by a deep sense of national pride as the THDCIL family paid tribute to the architects of the Constitution, freedom fighters, and martyrs who laid the foundation of India’s democracy. Addressing the gathering, Sipan Kumar Garg acknowledged the collective dedication of THDCIL employees and emphasized their pivotal role in strengthening the nation’s power sector. He underlined that THDCIL’s journey over the years reflects sustained performance, resilience, and strategic growth. Highlighting a key milestone, Garg noted that THDC India Limited’s installed capacity has increased by nearly 130%, rising from 1,587 MW to 3,657 MW, reflecting a significant expansion of the Company’s generation portfolio. He further underscored that this growth has been accompanied by a strengthening of THDCIL’s financial standing, with the Company’s credit rating upgrading from “AA” to “AA+”, reaffirming its robust operational performance and financial discipline. He also stated that technological advancements, rising expectations, and compressed timelines demand that organizations remain not only responsive but proactive and future-ready. At the Corporate Headquarters, Rishikesh, the ceremony was attended by L P Joshi, Chief Technical Officer; Kumar Sharad, Executive Director (Projects); Dr A N Tripathy, Chief General Manager (HR–Admin and CC); and other senior officers. The celebrations were observed across THDC India Limited’s projects and offices, marked by cultural programmes, patriotic performances, and employee participation, reflecting the organisation’s spirit of unity, pride, and commitment to national values. THDC India Limited operates a diverse portfolio of power projects across the country, including the Tehri HPP (1,000 MW), Koteshwar HEP (400 MW), Tehri Pumped Storage Plant (750 MW), Khurja Super Thermal Power Plant (1,320 MW), Patan Wind PP (50 MW), Dwarka WPP, (63 MW), Dhukwan SHEP, (24 MW) and Kasaragod Solar PP (50 MW) along with other strategic assets contributing to the current installed capacity of 3,657 MW.
