whispers in the corridors
Engineers India Limited (EIL) has played a pivotal role in shaping India’s Energy landscape in its journey of more than 60 years since its inception in 1965. The company has built several firsts in India starting from a 200 KTPA lube blending facility for Madras Refinery to world-scale petro-chemical projects, complex Bottom Upgradation facilities such as RUF (world’s first resid upgradation facility based on LC-Max technology at HPCL-Vishakh refinery) successfully commissioned recently, a first-of-its-kind Propane Dehydrogenation facility in India, an engineering marvel LPG cavern project and India’s first bamboo feedstock-based Biorefinery in Assam, inaugurated recently by Prime Minister, collectively demonstrating EIL’s capabilities in the hydrocarbon sector in the domestic market. Today, EIL has a strong presence in the Middle East, Africa and various parts of the Globe, affirming its capability to deliver world-class projects and services aligned with its vision “To be a Global Leader Offering Total Energy Solutions for a Sustainable Future”. The successful commissioning and smooth operation of the Dangote Oil Refinery Project in Nigeria, the largest single train refinery in the world, reflects the company’s pivotal role in the execution of mega projects overseas, advancing the ‘Local to Global’ vision of the Prime Minister of India. Based on the trust the company built over time, the Dangote group has also entrusted EIL with the implementation of the Dangote refinery expansion project and expansion of the fertilizer complex, the world’s largest refinery and fertilizer complex, respectively, at single location in Africa. Further, the company is progressing well on the green-field refinery project in Mongolia and the Guyana power plant project.
EIL has already established a strategic foothold in the UAE, transforming its Abu Dhabi office, offering engineering, project management and procurement services to a diverse set of clients primarily in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
The organization relies on a disciplined approach to cost management and continuous operational improvement, reflecting clearly in its profitability metrics. Besides, the company has an all-time high order book position standing at around Rs. 15,000 Crores with the right balance between volume-driven turnkey contracts and higher-margin consulting assignments, showcasing robust growth prospects for the organization.
In addition, the company has inked collaborative agreements recently, with leading global companies such as ADNOC, NMDC Energy, BP, Aramco Asia India, India’s Oil PSUs, NPCIL, Power Grid, and academia like IITs, among others, and opened a new international office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to unlock new business opportunities across the globe in the years to come.
EIL is playing a central role in advancing India’s Small Modular Reactor (SMR) programme, fully aligned with the Government of India’s Nuclear Energy Mission.
EIL has executed an MoU with Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) to provide engineering services for the conceptual design and development of the Bharat Small Modular Reactor (BSMR). In parallel, EIL is delivering design and detailed engineering services for the 220 MW PHWR Bharat Small Reactor and providing consultancy for the Atomic Power Project in Rajasthan, reflecting a strong and growing footprint of the company in the nuclear sector.
Going forward, EIL endeavours to deliver excellence through its committed workforce, reinforcing leadership in its core business segments, scale up in new energy sectors, expanding business in new geographies going local to global, while maintaining sustainability as integral to strategy with the highest standards of governance and ethics.
