In Jharkhand, the Government is all prepared to reactivate State Information Commission. The Commission has remained inactive for almost five years, with the posts of Chief Information Commissioner and Information Commissioners lying vacant. As a result, citizens are left without a statutory forum to file appeals under the Right to Information Act, 2005. It may be noted that the Jharkhand Government has assured the state High Court that the State Information Commission, will be made fully functional within four weeks.
