New Delhi keeps beady eyes on Bangladesh polls results (UPDATED)

New Delhi is closely monitoring the outcomes of the recently concluded Bangladesh elections, with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) keeping a sharp eye on developments in Dhaka. Kartavya Bhavan 3, which handles South Asia affairs, is expected to function around the clock as the polls could determine the future course of India-Bangladesh relations. Officials are hopeful that the next dispensation in Dhaka will prioritize continuity and reboot the strategic partnership that had slowed in recent months. Key focus areas include advancing connectivity projects, improving border management, and strengthening cooperation in trade, energy, and security. Senior MEA officials describe the moment as critical for defining the next phase of bilateral and regional engagement.
