As the world celebrates International Women’s Day-2026, we, at WITC, bring forth a gritty and committed 2009 batch Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, Dr C Meenakshi, who believes in breaking stereotypes and is brimming with pride, after a successful three-year tenure as Director Finance, Central Silk Board (CSB), Bengaluru.   
She created history by becoming not only the first female IFS officer, but also the first IFS officer to command as Finance head - a domain originally excelled by Finance & Accounts-based Civil Services officers throughout. Her tenure was not just a professional assignment — it was a test of resilience, leadership, and unwavering commitment to duty. 
 
Currently, she serves as Conservator of Forest, Wildlife, Kerala.
