As PM Modi, Amit Shah and Hardeep Puri meet today, Key decisions are expected on LPG and LNG supplies!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri convened a crucial meeting today amid the ongoing LPG and LNG supply disruptions triggered by Middle East conflicts, particularly the Strait of Hormuz closure. Key decisions focused on bolstering energy security for households, prioritizing domestic LPG allocation under the LPG Control Order, and ramping up refinery output by 28% to meet 33 crore families' needs without shortages. The trio reinforced the three-minister panel led by Shah with Puri and EAM Jaishankar to monitor stocks, curb hoarding, extend refill cycles to 25 days, and redirect natural gas to PNG, CNG, and LPG production via Essential Commodities Act orders. Further measures include diverting KG-D6 gas, exploring alternative imports, and daily audits to stabilize commercial supplies while shielding essentials like hospitals. This proactive strategy counters panic buying, ensures 2-3 day deliveries, and advances India's self-reliance amid global volatility.
