Madhya Pradesh to shine globally through international tourism TV series (UPDATED)

Madhya Pradesh’s rich heritage, wildlife, spirituality, and tribal culture are set to gain global recognition through an international television series titled Rural Tourism of the World, currently being filmed across the state by Spain-based production house Colors Communication Group (RTVV). The series will be broadcast in over 80 countries, showcasing Madhya Pradesh as a major tourism and filming destination.

According to MP Tourism Board (MPTB) MD Dr. Ilayaraja T., the project is the result of the state government’s collaboration with Spain under an MoU signed earlier this year. The initiative is being seen as a landmark step in promoting state on the global tourism map. The project took shape during FITUR Madrid 2026, one of the world’s leading tourism fairs, where officials from MP Tourism presented the state’s tourism and filming potential before international stakeholders.

The series will feature UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the Sanchi Stupa and Bhimbetka Rock Shelters, along with the scenic landscapes of Satpura National Park, Pachmarhi Biosphere Reserve, and the Tawa region. Rural and tribal life in places like Tamia, Sabarwani, and Dhusawani will also be highlighted through Gond art, village homestays, local cuisine, and traditional lifestyles. The spiritual grandeur of Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple in Ujjain will also be showcased. Spanish director Juan Frutos described the experience of filming in state as extraordinary, praising the region’s hospitality and cultural richness.
