Former West Bengal Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay clarifies

A news item concerning me has been forwarded to me from several sources. I have been shocked by the complete untruth of the item. Yours is an esteem media platform. I assure you that what I am writing is wholly factually correct and true.

I have been a former chief secretary to the Government of West Bengal, and post retirement,  I was an advisor to the chief minister of the State. These were all bureaucratic assignments, and I have always been a professional civil servant, with no interest or involvement in politics. I had no partisan loyalty or activity, nor shall I have any. I render no political service to any politician, nor shall I do that.

I shall be grateful if my version is kindly prominently published in different platforms of yours.

With sincere regards,

Alapan Bandyopadhyay

( IAS: WB: 1987: retired)
