President Murmu expresses hopes for 'golden future' in Bihar Day greetings

President Droupadi Murmu said that empowerment of society should not be limited only to economic development. True empowerment takes place when self-confidence, self-respect, awareness and a sense of responsibility are developed within an individual.  Addressing the mega conference on “Empowerment of Tribal Society Through Spiritual Awakening” in Betul, President Murmu said tribal communities embody self-respect, simplicity, cooperation and a deep connection with nature. She emphasized that spiritual awakening helps individuals realize their inner strength and that a balance between development and culture is essential for a prosperous society.

The President stated that India’s goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047 can only be achieved when all sections of society, including tribal communities, actively participate in the development process. She praised the Madhya Pradesh government’s efforts in education, healthcare, tribal welfare and the fight against sickle cell anaemia. Highlighting the tribal way of life, Murmu said tribal communities have long lived in harmony with nature, respecting land, water, forests and natural resources. Their lifestyle, she noted, offers valuable lessons in environmental conservation at a time of growing global ecological concerns.

Murmu also underscored the importance of connecting tribal youth with modern education, skill development and digital empowerment while preserving their cultural identity and spiritual heritage. Praising the Brahma Kumaris for their work in spiritual awareness, women’s empowerment and social upliftment, she said spirituality and service together can drive lasting positive change and contribute to building an inclusive and developed India by 2047.

President Murmu also visited an exhibition showcasing the cultural heritage of Betul district and various development initiatives. She appreciated products prepared through natural farming by tribal communities. On this occasion, Governor Mangubhai Patel said that spiritual consciousness and religious values inspire society to lead an elevated, cultured and dignified life. Expressing gratitude to Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya for organising this grand and inspiring event, he conveyed his best wishes to all members of the institution.

Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durgadas Uike said that President Murmu, who rose from a small tribal village in Odisha to occupy the highest constitutional office in the country, is a living example of the strength of Indian democracy, greatness of the Constitution and social harmony. Minister of State for Public Health and Medical Education Narendra Shivaji Patel, Rajyogini Shailaja Didi, Rajyogini Manju Didi and Rajyogi Dr. BK Nathmalji of Brahma Kumaris Institution were also present on the occasion.
