Ms Nidhi Khare , IAS, Secretary Consumer Affairs Government of India was elected the Chairperson of the Ninth Session of the intergovernmental Group of Experts on Consumer Protection Law and Policy , UNTAD meeting which is taking place in Palais de Nations , Geneva , from 6- 8th July , 2026. The meeting will discuss various issues, which include the report on implementation of the United Nations guidelines for Consumer Protection by member States and relevant stakeholders, UNCTAD world consumer protection map, launch of United Nations principles for consumer protection safety, enforcement of consumer protection law in global markets, including digital tools and cross border considerations. It will further discuss innovation in consumer information and education to promote sustainable consumption.
