About 5 lakh direct tax cases pending

As many as 4.83 lakh direct tax cases with a revenue worth Rs 9.32 lakh crore locked up in litigation, pending at various appellate forums such as the commissioner (appeals), ITATs, High Courts and the Supreme Court.
