DGP succession becomes a major institutional issue in Odisha

The Supreme Court questioned Odisha's decision to exclude senior IPS officer Susanta Kumar Nath (1993) from the DGP panel after his integrity certificate was withdrawn following a CBI request connected with the police SI recruitment-exam investigation. The state had earlier sent a panel of 11 officers to UPSC and subsequently revised it to 10.
