 Eight IAS officers in Assam have been promoted to Selection Grade (Special Secretary level). The officers are: Varnali Deka, Biswajit Pegu, Rakesh Agarwala, Hitesh Dev Sarma, Hemen Das, Devajyoti Hazarika and Mrs Seema Rekha Bhuyan. Besides, Javvadi V Naga Subramanyam, now on inter cadre deputation, is allowed proforma promotion to Selection Grade of IAS.
