Haryana’s IAS shortage set to worsen by year end!

Haryana is running its administration with 44 fewer IAS officers than the sanctioned strength for the state. More officers are due to retire in the remaining three-and-a-half months of 2026, worsening the present situation further. Suresh, Principal Secretary in the Fisheries Department has already retired on 31 August. Anita Yadav and Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, both are supposed to retire on 30 September. Sanjay Joon, the Commissioner of Faridabad Division, retires on 31 October. Sudhir Rajpal, Additional Chief Secretary for Home and Forests; Abhilaksh Likhi, currently on central deputation; and Geeta Bharti, Commissioner of Hisar Division are simultaneously reaching their superannuation on 30 November. Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi himself is retiring on 31 December.
