Hindustan Copper PBT Surges by 163%
The Board of Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), at its meeting held in Kolkata today, approved the financial results for the first quarter ended 30 June 2026 of the Financial Year 2026–27.
The company has reported a stronger bottom line. The company achieved a Profit Before Tax (PBT) of Rs. 471.77 crore for the quarter ended 30 June 2026, registering an increase of around 163% over the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
Profit After Tax (PAT) stood at Rs. 352.61 crore, recording a growth of around 163% over the same period last year.
HCL achieved Revenue from Operations of Rs. 936.50 crore in the June 2026 quarter vis-à-vis Rs. 516.37 crore in the June 2025 quarter, registering an increase of 81%.
The financial results are in line with our expectations, in sync with seasonal trends, and will go a long way in achieving its ongoing mine expansion plan. The company has intensified the monitoring of intermediate milestones for expansion projects. This will help achieve the target of 12.2 MTPA ore production by 2030.
HCL is making progress in the reopening of other closed mines in Jharkhand, acquiring new mines in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Our efforts in Chile mine exploration are moving ahead on expected lines.
The LME copper price has crossed USD 14,000/MT, which is a good sign for our company. As the global economy transitions towards renewable energy and electric mobility, driven by advancements in AI and strengthened decarbonization policies, the demand for copper is projected to surge in the coming years. This will further support copper prices.
