West Bengal govt names actor Mithun Chakraborty as its Cultural Advisor

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has officially announced the appointment of megastar Mithun Chakraborty as the new cultural advisor to the state government. The announcement was delivered during the foundation stone laying ceremony for the upcoming "Uttam Kumar Film Centre," situated in New Town on Kolkata’s northern outskirts.

The state’s Information and Cultural Affairs Department has sanctioned ₹25 crore to develop the complex, which will be modeled after the renowned Nandan Cultural Centre in Central Kolkata.
