whispers in the corridors
The proposed World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) reportedly is not going to be held this year in November . It is said that the Information &Broadcasting Ministry has planned to organise this event at Goa along with the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in November 2024. As per information, WAVES is a global summit for the media and entertainment industry, specifically focusing on the Indian media and entertainment Industry. If WAVE is postponed, this will be the second incident when the related ministry will back out. Earlier, it had withdrawn the new draft Broadcasting Services (Regulation) Bill, 2024, which triggered a controversy and criticism over fears that the government was trying to exert greater control over online content. There is no official information about the likely postponement of WAVE.
