NBCC (India) Limited, a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, has been entrusted with the construction of 9 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. The project involves the construction of permanent campuses for across the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, and Telangana. The campuses will be developed in locations of Lohit, Pakke Kessang, Lepa Rada and Lower Siang in Arunachal Pradesh, Noney in Manipur, Sonitpur, Majuli, and Charai Deo in Assam and Bhadradri Kothagudem in Telangana. The scope of work for the construction of the permanent campus at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya includes comprehensive civil and infrastructure development. It comprises construction of a school building with a central covered courtyard, smart classrooms, kitchen and dining facilities, boys' and girls' dormitories (each with warden residences), residences for the principal and vice principal, staff quarters (Type-II and Type-III), a guest house, electrical substation, pump house and guard room. Sports infrastructure includes a 400-meter EPDM running track with a football field and sitting arrangement, a mini integrated sports complex (basketball, handball, volleyball, lawn tennis) and separate open gyms for boys and girls. All facilities are designed to meet NVS standards and are equipped with basic furnishings and smart learning provisions. Site development includes a 2.4-meter-high boundary wall with an RCC structure, internal CC roads, paver pathways, culverts, underground water tanks, tube well, water supply, sewerage and drainage systems, external electrification, rainwater harvesting and landscaping. These campuses are aimed at providing state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities for school education, especially in remote and underserved areas, contributing to the Government’s vision of equitable and quality education for all. Prior to the above NBCC is already engaged in the construction work of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV) at various locations of Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, NER, UP & Delhi valuing Rs. 346 Crore.
