Under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority, and Madhya Pradesh, and the State Legal Services Authority, Justice Vivek Rusia, (Administrative Judge and Chairman of High Court Mediation Committee), has trained 123 community mediators to resolve disputes between two persons or groups way of mediation out of the court by. These 123 community mediators come from 23 different religions and communities (Brahmins , Agrawal, Maheshwari, Jain, Sindhi, Vaishya , Muslim , Bohra, Yadav, Kachi,and Bhilala etc.). All these communities have opened 24 community centers in Indore city from their own funds to resolve the dispute between members of their respective communities. Since the last four years, almost 6000 disputes have been resolved by way of mediation at the pre-litigation stage. In continuation of above mediation process Ashish Singh, collector Indore, was kind enough to allot a big hall and two rooms with staff in the Collectorate building where four community mediators are regularly visiting and conducting the mediations twice in a week . Till date they have successfully resolved more than 500 disputes coming under Jan Sunvai of the civil & domestic natures for last two years. Similarly, Santosh Singh, Commissioner of Police, has also graciously set up big hall and three furnished chambers with computers in top floor of his office to conduct the mediation by these community mediators in the petty matters of a criminal nature coming to the police stations for registration of FIR. MP Chief Minister, Dr Mohan Yadav, inaugurated this Community Mediation Centre in the office of Commissioner of Police on 25.6.2025 in the presence of Justice Sanjiv Sachdeva Chief Justice of High Court of MP. This is a unique initiative in the country taken by the Collector and Commissioner of Police Indore by opening a community mediation Centers in Collectorate and Police Commissionerate building at Indore to resolve disputes at the pre-litigation stage. Likewise in Ujjain city also almost 80 community mediators have been trained and started serving the society.
