New Dhaka Complex Hostel cum residential complex by NBCC

NBCC (India) Limited, in partnership with University of Delhi is set to begin work on the ambitious new Hostel cum Residential Block at the Dhaka Complex. This landmark project, with a sanctioned cost of more than Rs.370 crore under the Institution of Eminence initiative, promises to transform campus living by combining advanced amenities, environment-friendly design and inclusive facilities for a thriving academic community. The ceremonial Bhoomi Poojan, marking the initiation of this project, took place on September 29, 2025. The event saw the presence of several luminaries including Prof. Yogesh Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, University of Delhi, Dr. Vikas Gupta, Registrar, University of Delhi, Prof Balaram Pani, Dean of Colleges, Prof. Rajni Abbi, Director, South Campus, University of Delhi, Shri K.P. Mahadevaswamy, CMD, NBCC, Shri Saleem Ahmad, Director (Projects), NBCC, Shri Rajeev Kumar, Chief General Manager along with other sr. officers and distinguished guests from both organizations. With a residential capacity for over 1,400 students across two dedicated blocks for boys and girls, the complex will offer a range of accommodation including single, triple, married en-suite and master apartments, catering to diverse residential needs. The building with a built-up area of approximately 70,000 square meters is set within a 7.28-acre site, featuring 20% greenscape and providing parking space for more than 400 vehicles. Aligned with the highest standards of sustainability, the complex achieves a 3-Star GRIHA green building rating, introducing rainwater harvesting, rooftop solar installation of 55 kWp, 10 EV charging stations and integrated solid and liquid waste management systems. Designed for holistic student development, the facility incorporates spacious dining halls, indoor recreation areas, libraries and computer rooms, laundry and utility services and separate amenities for faculty and married students. The Hostel cum Residential Block at Dhaka Complex represents a landmark achievement in campus accommodation, establishing a new standard for student living in India while highlighting the shared commitment of the University of Delhi and NBCC to innovation, sustainability, and the future of higher education.
