The previous rounds of discussions, involving the Leh Apex Body (LAB) and the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA), have been intermittently stalled due to demands for impartial judicial inquiries and release of detainees. The involvement of senior law enforcement officers signals a stronger focus on stabilizing the law and order situation alongside political dialogue. The intention is for this new team of bureaucrats and top cops to engage more effectively with local leaders to create a conducive environment for dialogue and resolution of long-standing issues.
