130 new faculty positions created
The Union Cabinet approved the creation of 130 new faculty positions (Professors at Level 14 and above) across five newer IITs (Tirupati, Palakkad, Bhilai, Jammu, Dharwad), as part of Phase-B expansion. Recruitment processes have commenced, boosting top-brass strength by 25% in these institutes.
IIT Madras announced 23 new non-teaching posts (Junior Assistants, Technical Officers), with applications open until May 19, 2026, supporting expanded research ops.
