Major scrap removal initiative as part of special campaign (UPDATED)

NLC India Limited, in line with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and under the guidance of Hon’ble Coal Minister Shri G. Kishan Reddy, has embarked upon a series of activities as part of the National special campaign 5.0 from 2nd to 31st October 2025. The campaign aims to create cleaner work places, accelerate disposal of pending matters, and strengthen citizen‑centric governance. As part of the Special Campaign 5.0, scrap removal activities were taken up at different Units of NLCIL. The campaign included activities like identification of scrap materials, inspection and review to identify and ensure the e-waste, scrap, redundant materials for disposal and undertaking space management.  At Mine-IA, scrap materials including MS pipes (around 3.550 MT) and dumpers (around 6.130 MT) were cleared on 24.10.2025, followed by the removal of identified scrap materials of crane (around 8.910 MT) on 25.10.2025. Scrap disposal initiative was also executed at Mine II on 25.10.2025. Approximately 17.78 MT of damaged conveyors and unused rollers were cleared from the site.  Besides creating more space, enhancing workplace safety and promoting cleanliness in NLCIL, the sales from the scrap materials will generate significant revenue for the company, transforming waste into a profitable and sustainable income stream.  These proactive measures also reinforce the dedication to maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient working environment. With such endeavours, NLCIL is committed to make Special Campaign 5.0 a success and contribute to the nationwide movement for cleanliness, efficiency, and responsive governance.
