Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) has been honoured with five prestigious Kalinga Safety Excellence Awards for the Assessment Year 2024 at the 16th National Safety Conclave 2025, organised by the Institute of Quality and Environment Management Services (IQEMS). The awards were presented by the Hon’ble Speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly and MLA, Ranpur, Mrs Surama Padhy, during the ceremony held in Bhubaneswar. This year, OMC’s operational excellence and commitment to the highest safety standards were recognised with top honours: Roida C Iron & Manganese Mines – Platinum Award; Kodingamali Bauxite Mines – Platinum Award; Guali Iron Ore Mines – Gold Award; Tiringpahar Iron Ore Mines – Gold Award; Ampavalli Limestone Mines – Gold Award. The Kalinga Safety Excellence Awards are among the most respected recognitions in Odisha’s mining and industrial sectors. OMC’s emphasis on operational safety, digital innovation, and prevention-led practices received strong appreciation. The Corporation has been steadily integrating technology-driven solutions—such as digital monitoring platforms, automated alert systems, and real-time safety reporting tools—to strengthen risk management and enable faster, more intelligent safety responses across its mines. These awards highlight OMC’s commitment to reinforcing safety governance, advancing workforce training, and upgrading safety infrastructure to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient mining operations across all regions.
