The Valedictory function of the Vigilance Awareness Campaign 2025 conducted by the NLC India Limited’s Vigilance Department, was held today, 21.11.2025, at the Lignite Hall, Neyveli. The Vigilance Awareness campaign 2025 was observed by NLC India Limited in line with the directions of Central Vigilance Commission from 27.10.2025 to 02.11.2025 on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility”. Thiru Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director, NLCIL, presided over the function. Thiru Appakannu Govindarajan, IPoS, Chief Vigilance Officer, NLCIL, Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines) & (P&P) Addl. Charge, Thiru M. Venkatachalam, Director (Power) and Dr. Prasanna Kumar Acharya, Director (Finance) graced the occasion. Executive Directors, Executives, Employees, Representatives of recognised Trade Unions, SC/ST Employees Welfare Federation, ST Employees Welfare Federation, OBC Association, Graduates Engineers Association, National Graduates Engineers Association, Engineers Association, Officers Association, Women In Public Sector (WIPS), Ladies Club, Cultural Societies, Principals, Teachers, Students and the general public participated in the function. Thiru Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD, in his Presidential Address, paid rich tributes to Shri Sardar Vallabhai Patel, the first Home Minister of Independent India, in whose memory the Vigilance Awareness Campaign is conducted. He called upon everyone to observe the spirit of vigilance all-round the year. He also congratulated the entire Vigilance Team for conducting innovative programmes for maximum outreach to all stakeholders. Motupalli reminded everyone that NLCIL had strategized a framework for contributing to a “Viksit Bharat” including tripling the present power generation capacity, increasing Renewable Energy by 7 times in the next three years and poised for a CAPEX expenditure of 2.5 Lakh Crore. With these ambitious plans, NLCIL very much needed Vigilance to ensure transparency and accountability in all its activities. Thiru Prasanna Kumar Motupalli also suggested framing of Standard Operating Procedures for all activities and appreciated the Vigilance Department for their emphasis on preventive vigilance to achieve targets successfully. Thiru Appakannu Govindarajan, CVO, NLCIL, speaking on the occasion, thanked CMD, NLCIL for the steadfast support to the Vigilance campaign by all Units, Outside Projects and Joint Ventures of NLCIL. He recalled that the outreach programmes in the campaign involved maximum number of stakeholders. He also placed on record his appreciation to school students for making the campaign a vibrant one. He stressed upon the necessity of a strong technological framework to cope up with the existing systems. Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines) and (P&P) Addl. Charge, commended the Vigilance Department for introducing a Selfie Stand depicting Manuneedhi Cholan as a symbol of Justice and Integrity. He noted that this initiative will inspire individuals to embrace these values. Dr. Suman also highlighted that the Chief Vigilance Officer has undertaken all related initiatives in the National interest, upholding the Vigilance motto of “Shared Responsibility”. Thiru M. Venkatachalam, Director (Power), in his felicitation address praised the efforts of the Vigilance Department in creating a paradigm shift in the thinking processes. He listed out Awareness, Systemic improvements and Cultural changes as the most significant outcomes of the Vigilance awareness campaign. Dr. Prasanna Kumar Acharya, Director (Finance), speaking on the occasion, stressed upon the importance of ethical behaviour and digitalisation as it would eliminate the vigilance angle in public activities. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the Rangoli Competition, Placard Competition and the Reels/Shorts Competition held as part of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2025. The “Vigilant Employee” awards were also distributed to employees. A special edition of “Neyveli Vigil”, a Newsletter of NLCIL Vigilance Department was also released. A short video encompassing all activities undertaken during the Vigilance Awareness Campaign was screened before the programme. Earlier, Tmt. T.G. Citrakala, General Manager/Vigilance Department, welcomed the gathering while Thiru T.R. Rajakumar, DGM/Vigilance proposed the Vote of Thanks. The function concluded with a vibrant cultural programme presented by various school students of Neyveli.
