SC Collegium headed by CJI Surya Kant, adopted a policy to transfer judges proposed as future High Court CJs “well in advance, preferably two months before the vacancy arises” for smoother transitions and better administrative familiarity. This aims to strengthen efficiency in justice administration. Multiple recommendations (including for nine judges in some reports) were made alongside this.
