Vice Admiral (now Admiral) Krishna Swaminathan, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, assumed charge as the 27th Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), succeeding Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi (who retired after a distinguished career, including highlights like Operation Sindoor). Swaminathan previously commanded the Western Naval Command.
