Several IAS officers have been given field posting as District Magistrates (DMs) of different districts in Bihar. Kundan Kumar, a 2012-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the new District Magistrate of Patna; he previously served as the DM of Nalanda. Similarly, Alankrita Pandey was posted as DM, Bhagalpur; Kumar Gaurav as DM, Muzaffarpur; Udita Singh  as DM, Nalanda; Deepak Kumar Mishra as DM, Rohtas; Tshering Y. Bhutia as DM, Jehanabad; Anshul Agarwal as DM, Banka; Sameer Saurabh as DM, Gopalganj; Saurabh Suman Yadav as DM, East Champaran and Vikram Virkar was shifted as DM of Khagaria.
